CBD oil price UK: what you should pay in 2026
A 10ml bottle of CBD oil in the UK can cost anything from £15 to £75, and the sticker price tells you almost nothing. The number that actually matters is the cost per milligram of CBD. Work that out and the market splits very quickly into fair value and expensive branding. Typical UK full spectrum oils sit around 4p to 7p per mg. Ours is 2.6p. This guide shows you how to do the maths for yourself, on any product, in about thirty seconds.

What does CBD oil actually cost in the UK?
Most CBD oil sold in the UK comes in 10ml bottles. For a 1,000mg (10%) bottle, prices range from roughly £15 at the budget end to £60 or more from the big premium brands. The strange part is that the product inside often varies far less than the price does. Two 1,000mg full spectrum oils can sit at £26 and £65 on different websites, and the £65 one is not two and a half times better. It mostly has a bigger marketing budget.

Spectrum type moves the price around too. Full spectrum oils, which keep the plant’s natural cannabinoids and terpenes, usually cost more than isolate based oils because the extraction is more involved. Isolate oils contain pure CBD only, and they are normally the cheapest way to buy CBD if you want a THC free product.
Where you buy matters as well. Buying direct from the maker’s own website is nearly always cheaper than a high street shelf, because there is no retailer margin stacked on top. If you take CBD regularly, that difference adds up to a serious amount over a year.
How do you calculate cost per mg of CBD?
One simple formula:
Cost per mg = bottle price ÷ total CBD in mg

That one number lets you compare any two products fairly, whatever the bottle size or how the label is written.
Step by step
- Find the total CBD in mg. Most UK labels state it directly, for example “1,000mg CBD”. If the label only shows a percentage, convert it: bottle size in ml × percentage × 10. So a 10ml bottle at 10% is 10 × 10 × 10 = 1,000mg.
- Divide the price by the total mg. A £55 bottle containing 1,000mg works out at 5.5p per mg. Our Full Spectrum CBD Oil at £25.99 for 1,000mg works out at 2.6p per mg.
- Multiply by your daily dose for the monthly cost. At 20mg a day you use about 600mg a month, which is £33.00 at 5.5p per mg or £15.60 at 2.6p per mg. Halve or double those figures to match your own dose.
Tip: watch out for bottles that shout a big number that is actually the hemp oil content, not the CBD content. The only number that matters for value is the CBD in mg.
Price per mg across our range
Rather than talk in vague bands, here is the whole of our range with the maths already done. These are live single-unit prices; multipacks and larger sizes bring the per mg cost down further.
| Product | Size | CBD content | Price | Price per mg |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 99.9% CBD Isolate Crystals | 1g | ~999mg | £7.99 | 0.8p |
| 85% Full Spectrum Distillate | 1ml syringe | ~850mg | £9.99 | 1.2p |
| Pure CBD Isolate Oil (THC free) | 10ml, 20% | 2,000mg | £19.99 | 1.0p |
| Pure CBD Isolate Oil (THC free) | 10ml, 10% | 1,000mg | £14.99 | 1.5p |
| 50% CBD Amber Oil | 5ml syringe | ~2,500mg | £25.99 | 1.0p |
| Full Spectrum CBD Oil | 10ml, 20% | 2,000mg | £37.99 | 1.9p |
| Full Spectrum CBD Oil | 10ml, 10% | 1,000mg | £25.99 | 2.6p |
| Whole Plant Paste, 30% | 5ml syringe | ~1,500mg | £29.99 | 2.0p |
| Whole Plant Paste, 15% | 5ml syringe | ~750mg | £17.99 | 2.4p |
| Full Spectrum Capsules (40mg) | 15 pack | 600mg | £19.99 | 3.3p |
| Full Spectrum Capsules (120mg) | 60 pack | 7,200mg | £99.99 | 1.4p |
A few things jump out of that table. Concentrated formats are the cheapest way to buy CBD: isolate crystals and distillate get below 1p per mg even at the smallest sizes, and the 100g tub of isolate works out at roughly 0.15p per mg. Capsules cost a little more per mg than oil in the small packs, which is normal for the format, but the 60 pack of 120mg capsules gets down to 1.4p per mg, which undercuts most UK oils. And bigger sizes always win: the 100ml distillate is about 0.4p per mg against 1.2p for the 1ml syringe.
How do our prices compare with the wider UK market?
Independent price guides put typical UK full spectrum oil at roughly 4p to 7p per mg, with premium brands sometimes higher. Budget isolate oils from reputable sellers get down to around 1.5p to 2.5p per mg.
| Product type | Typical UK price per mg | Ours |
|---|---|---|
| Full spectrum oil (1,000mg) | 4p to 7p | 2.6p |
| THC free isolate oil (1,000mg) | 1.5p to 2.5p | 1.5p |
| Capsules | 4p to 8p | 1.4p to 3.3p |
| High strength concentrates | 1p to 2p | 0.15p to 1.2p |
We would encourage you not to take our word for any of this. Pick any UK CBD site, find a product, divide the price by the mg on the label, and compare. That is the whole point of this article: the calculation takes seconds and it cuts straight through the branding.
What drives CBD oil price in the UK?
Not every price difference reflects quality. Some things genuinely cost more to do; others are mostly marketing.
Things that genuinely affect cost:
- Extraction method. CO₂ extraction is cleaner and more consistent than solvent based methods, and it costs more to run.
- Hemp source. Well grown European hemp from certified cultivars costs more than commodity hemp, and tends to carry fewer contaminants.
- Spectrum type. Full spectrum extraction keeps more of the plant’s compounds and takes more care to produce. Isolate is the most processed form and usually the cheapest to make.
- Concentration. Stronger products cost more per bottle but almost always less per mg.
Things that are mostly marketing:
- Elaborate packaging and premium branding add cost without adding CBD.
- “Nano” and “water soluble” claims are occasionally backed by real science, but often just inflate the price.
- Celebrity endorsements and glossy advertising are paid for by the price on the bottle.
Quick checks before you buy from anyone
- Total CBD content stated clearly in mg, not just a percentage
- THC within the UK legal limit, with THC free options available if that matters to you
- A full ingredient list with no undisclosed additives
- Genuine customer reviews on an independent platform such as Trustpilot
- A clear returns and delivery policy, and a real business you can contact
What will CBD oil cost you each month?
Monthly spend is just your daily dose times the per mg rate, and daily doses vary far more than most price guides let on. The Food Standards Agency advises healthy adults to keep CBD from food supplements to about 10mg a day, but that figure is deliberately precautionary, not a legal limit or a maximum dose. The FSA’s own advice was 70mg a day until autumn 2023, clinical research has used doses in the hundreds of milligrams, and in our experience since 2018 many regular users settle somewhere between 25mg and 100mg or more a day. In our opinion the current figure is out of step with real-world use. The sensible approach is to start low, around 10-20mg a day, give it a fair trial, then step up gradually until it works for you. If you take prescription medication or are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a word with your GP or pharmacist first.

| Daily amount | Monthly mg | At a typical 5p/mg | Our full spectrum oil (2.6p/mg) | Our isolate oil (1.5p/mg) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10mg | 300mg | £15.00 | £7.80 | £4.50 |
| 20mg | 600mg | £30.00 | £15.60 | £9.00 |
| 40mg | 1,200mg | £60.00 | £31.20 | £18.00 |
| 80mg | 2,400mg | £120.00 | £62.40 | £36.00 |
How long a bottle lasts depends entirely on your dose. A 1,000mg bottle is over three months at 10mg a day, around seven weeks at 20mg, and closer to a fortnight at 80mg. That is also why the per mg rate matters more as your dose rises: at 40mg a day the gap between a typical 5p oil and our full spectrum oil is £28.80 a month, every month, for exactly the same milligrams. If you land at the higher end, the 20% strengths and the concentrated formats in the table further up bring the per mg cost down again.
Is CBD oil legal in the UK, and what should you check?
CBD oil is legal to buy in the UK provided the THC content stays within the permitted trace limit and, for products sold as food supplements, the product complies with the Food Standards Agency’s novel food framework. The FSA and gov.uk are the places to check for the current regulatory position.
Practical checks: make sure the total CBD is stated in mg, the THC position is clear (our isolate oil, isolate crystals and body salve are all THC free), and the seller is a real, contactable UK business rather than a white label site that appeared last month.
Note: this article is general information, not legal or medical advice. For your specific situation, check the current rules with the FSA or MHRA, or ask a qualified professional.
Why our prices are low (and why that is not a red flag)
When people first run the per mg numbers on our range, the usual question is what the catch is. There isn’t one, and the reasons are boringly practical.

We are a husband and wife business in Bolton and we have been making CBD products in the UK since 2018. We only sell direct from our own website, so there is no retailer margin. We spend nothing on celebrity endorsements or fancy boxes. And because we make everything in small batches ourselves, we are not paying a white label manufacturer’s markup either. The savings from all of that go into the price, which is the entire idea behind the name.
We have been trading for eight years and we are rated Excellent on Trustpilot across more than 700 reviews. The full range of oils covers 10% and 20% strengths for everyday use, with stronger formats for people who need them, and free UK delivery is standard on everything.
